How Can I Give You Money?

I love this forum and I dont see adverts everywhere.

So I assume you rely on donations, but how does one make a donation? And why dont you have pretty medal type things that appear under the posters name to show they have made a donation like other sites do?

It seems like a long time ago there was a link to make a dontaion but I may be wrong about that. William has always tried to keep the site ad-free and footed the expense on his own. The admins, William and Tolak, are looking into the possibility of selling advertising to a limited few vendors but nothing has been finalized as of yet. So, it's nice of you to offer a donation but as of now, I don't think you can do it at least not through the site.

I remember when William asked us all to help fund the upgrade, which many of us did willingly but we have never been asked since........think I would rather help fund the site than have advertisers

why not just get some sponsors or add a paypal donation button??
You will prbably have to pay paypal a fee for having it but i am sure the amount of money donated would by far cover that cost, and after all it is still optional so the site is still free to use.

Well if you think about it, there are so many members that too many people would donate if the button was left up 24/7. I'm sure william isn't in it to make money so when he needs it for domain payments and what not then he would put the button up until he had enough.

My .02 cents here.

I think that if he did do a button, a lot of people would feel the need to donate, a large sum of money would come in the first month or two, and then things would drastically slow down. Money could be saved for when it slows down. That's what I would do anyways...

true, but i go on other forums with advertisers and they are very annoying, so much i dont visit them much, i think a lot of other members would feel that way too.

yeah, i hate advertisers, ukaps isnt that bad as the ad's arnt all over the page, just in the one corner, butsite like tropical fish forums have them plastered all over, thats not what the forums for.. but i do agree there should be a donate button via paypal where anybody at anytime can transfer as much as they want to a particular address, such as when you buy stuff, donating is just a bit of a thankyou to the site really

There is a lot of useful info here, I would imagine people come here all the time looking for something.
