Ok got a new unit and got it all set up ect and it burnt out
How could i stop this form happening?

Kev

is this the tank we were talking about earlier? if so you shouldn't have to worry about heat.

if were talking massive lighting (4WPG) or metal halides etc. then fair enough but not with 2 T8 tubes.

i'd take the ballast back to the shop for a replacement if you've just bought it.

i took the light back today and i got it replaced. Was just a lit worried that it would happen again :S

You should not cover fluorescent lamp starters, if that is what we are talking about, but at the same time, they don't get overly hot. I presume you are using the right sized lamps with the starter and not trying to overdrive it.

it was a complete set so the tube is the correct one, just seemed to be to hot and the starter thing went. Got a new one so ill see what happens, also its not to hot atm :)

If i use computer fans how do i hook them up to power?
For future reference...

Use an AC adaptor, and put the fan's black cable inside the adaptor connector then tape it, then tape the yellow/red connector on the outside, like so...
