It's better to have at least 3 and preferably more (with a bigger tank, of course) to ensure the survival of them. With only 2 the dominate one will kill the other, with just 2.
yeah once im done paying for the paintjob for my car..ima head to walmart and pick me up a bigger tank...whats the biggest tank they have there..i heard you can get a 55g for like 140$ there...sounds like a good deal to me and i guess ill pick up 3 more pirhanas
Not sure the biggest Walmart has. I've never looked at their fish supplies there. Look around you can find some deals also. Try the newspaper. You can sometimes get real steals there. just make sure you have them fill the tank completely up to check for leaks before you hand over any money if you buy a used one.
What size are your rbp's now? They grow amazingly fast and I hope 1 doesn't kill the other, being so confined.
They'll all start out like that when their young. They'll get wider as they get older.
As young as they are, make sure you feed them good because they eat more often when small than they do when they get bigger. They'll probably outgrow that tank in a few weeks.
I would also clean your water twice a week because it's going to be dirty in that small of a tank.
I don't know how it will work having 2 in a 10g but I wish you luck and am very interested in hearing about it. Hope it works out for ya.
they have been doing purty good now and i had them for about a week...what would you recomend feeding them when they're this small ive been feeding them minnows and they've been eating them purty good...but is there something else i shood give them
I would feed them beefheart , shrimp and small worms. The beefheart might make the water kind of dirty tho. In such a small tank I'd be careful because we want to keep it as clean as possible for you.
I would stay away from feeders, at least until you get your 55. If you introduce fish that have a disease you'll be in a whole heap of trouble. Once you get your 55, you could use your 10g as a quarantine tank and throw your feeders in there for a couple weeks and make sure they are fine before introducing them to your p's in your show tank.
Fish have very little nutritional value anyways. The less fish in there right now the better.
What filtration are you using and how often are you cleaning it?
