I saw a vidoe on youtube yesterday when I saw a yellow tang in a very small tank, and it didnt look like it was happy. Just wonder because I would love to have one.

For ave tangs water volume is more important than tank dimensions...larger pelagic tangs are when this is more essential and surgeons..any open water species is looking for 6 foot and above

Me to, I would say about 75g
Sorry my mistake

Well I have a 300L tank and I can certainly say that it is small enough to make a decent yellow tang uncomfortable.. got my tang when it was less than 3 inches about a year ago and now its a massive 6 inch (ok not massive in terms of tangs) .. hence having to upgrade my tank coz of the tang.

Do you have a giant rock wall or lots of swim through spots? How do you know it's uncomfortable?

It does have open space and a few caves and crevices to go into which it does.. but when it starts its tang spring from one end of the tank, in 2 flaps it has already reached the end... looks like a sprinter taking off and has to break suddenly coz there is a wall just after 3 steps... if you know what I mean.

Anyways.. I already have a 500L tank for it to go in.. just need time to swap things across.
