depends on the plec. what kind of plec are you wanting to keep?

ony small plecos 3 to4 inchs

for 20? i would say no less than a 30 or 40g and enough filtration to turn the tank 8 times an hour. plecs are amazingly nasty fish

yep they poo a lot lol but love these fish thats why i am looking into a big pleco tank

with L numbers its more to do with tank footprint than volume L134 leopard frog plecs which are around 3.5"-4" require minimum 12" squared each due to territorial aggression

just the one l 163 plecos they grow about 4 inch known as the big spotted pleco

the big spotted pleco i have got now is well cool he aways out in the day and doing ok. with the clown pleco as well
