I am thinking / looking to get some RCS for my tank - all I had seen before were the smaller fry (0.5-1cm).  I have been to a few other LFS's over the past week, and have been amazed at how big some of the RCS (and other varieties) can get.

I was going to get quite a lot (10 or so) for my tank, but looking at how big they can get I'm rethinking to just 2 to 4.

That made me wonder what the biggest RCS shrimp is that you've seen?

I know they technically grow to 4 or 5 cms, but I hadn't grasped what that actually looked like in the flesh before!

I keep RCS in my main tank. The females are bigger than males, males about 3/4 of an inch and females grow to about an inch.

Females are also much more red than males. That makes it easy to identify genders! :)

Thats about the largest have seen RCS however largest different species shrimps I've seen is in LFS and Bamboo Shrimps are pretty big. About 2.5 to 4 inches! But can be quite hard to keep these healthy in a tank.

Macros (not really a shrimp but an invert of sorts) grow to about a foot apparently!
