Hi,

My girlfriends parents have 2 (what I can only assume are) Bristlenoses (they look like another plec in a post that was said to be a bristlenose) in their vison 180 tank ... I have read that Bristlenoses only get to a maximum of about 6 inches ... however these 2 in their tank though are about 7 inches in length.

Their tank is not set up ideally (there are a lot of rocks, but no caves, a few bits of wood, but no plants) and the plecs kind of stay in the same area, which is probably the reason that they have had a few fights with each other (I didn't see these fights, but supposedly they were rolling around on the ground on top of each other) and because they are getting bigger the tank is becoming smaller.

I'm just wondering if that's the full size that they will reach?

Thanks

depends on the species, but most get to about 5-6"

if you can get some pics we'll gladly try and ID them for you.
