Gosh this is really tough for me to get right!
When I move a sick fish to a hospital tank, they usually end up so stressed by the move that they get instantly sicker and promptly die. I've tried to minimise stress as best I can, I don't even use a net to move them (I use a large plastic cup) but I have so much trouble moving fish to a hospital tank that I've just about decided it's not worth it.
Also, just doing a water change in the main tank seems to stress my fish out so much. I have a gravel vac that works from suction from a faucet and I try hard not to upset the fish, but they hate water changes!
I admit that I usually remove pretty much every object and plant from the tank when I clean the tank so I can really vacuum the gravel well, but is this causing too much stress?
Please tell me how to minimise stress on my fish, I can't understand why I am so bad at this. My fish keep getting sick, and I've had all my water tested professionally. There is nothing wrong with my water quality, pH, ammonia, nitrite/nitrate etc etc. Also, my tank is nowhere near overstocked.
