Hi all,

I used to use a kettle to change water (and get the temp up a bit so as to not shock the fish), but now I don't have a kettle anymore and was wondering if water from the tap would be ok?

I hear that some people are against this due to possible metals in the water from the boiler, but I also hear to counter this there are things you can add to the water?

I currently only add tapsafe to tap water.

Thanks :)

Hot water is perfectly safe, be it from a tank or direct from a combination boiler, most water tanks are inert and wont release metals, but a good dechlorinator will neutralise any metals anyway.

Second this........ :good: I keep Tanganyikans which require perfect water at all times and I haven't had a problem for years
