King and Ebby, AKA Brennin Mynydd Du and Eboles Coch Mynydd Du. Both quarter horse x welsh type. Ex-trail horses who I've been trying to rehab for eventing and show jumping. Not going well! I got them when they were both over 10 so this has been a long, hard slog.

King is a great jumper but if he's not in the mood, it ain't happening. Before I gained weight he would do anything for me - we had such a connection - but since I went to university and gained weight, I've been too heavy to ride properly and we're both out of practice. Looking forward to moving back home and getting that spark back!

Ebby is just . . . wild. She's just horse, through and through. She'll co-operate if the work is interesting and she trusts you, but trust is hard for her and she just works on instinct. Never been able to tame her, although building up that trust is more rewarding than any amount of fancy schooling and show jumping. It's wonderful to work with such a natural animal! She's ridden in a bitless bridle as she doesn't do metal and is totally unresponsive to rubber. She goes so well when handled in a natural, understanding manner.

Wouldn't trade them in for all the pure bred arabian stallions in the world.

I miss them <3

They look a lovely pair, you must miss them awfully. Did you get home at Christmas to be with them?

I was only home for three days :-( but managed to ride out with my little sister on Boxing Day.

I want pony snuggles.

I graduate in July :hyper: but might stick around for another year.

It makes me tingle all over when they do that. King likes to rest his head on my shoulder and pretend to be asleep

I have six myself, well the family does. A Shire x, a Clydesdale, 2 x New Forests and a Miniature Shetland with foal at foot. I graduate in July aswell, great feeling isn,t it. What are you studying? I am doing a Bsc in Eqine Sports Science (Equestrian Psychology).

Philosophy.

Never really got on with riding larger horses, but I made friends with a huge sofie of a shire x once. He wasn't fun to ride (too 'lumpy') but he was a lovely horse to know.

My Clydesdale is a but like that, the Shire just glides, he over extends on the near hind on the first step but then he just floats along at walk and trot, very relaxing and covers ground with ease
