is 1 ok or do they prefer to be in shoals.
is £4.50 a good price.
and the man said they could go in coldwater or tropical tanks is this true?

also known as butterfly or hillstream loach, true they go prefer cooler water and a fast current

Hi kizno1 :)

Hong Kong Pleco is a name used for Hillstream loaches. I'll move your thread to Cyprinids, Characins and Atherinids which is where you'll probably get an answer. :D

i think hy tank would be to hot then its 25/26 and that said max 24 and it defently looked like the first one

arnt they also called borneo suckers??? all i know is that they must be in cooler waters, sub tropical, and they need algae, and higher oxygen levels i think- and if i am correct they only grow to like 3-4 inches, so yes, would be suitable for your 54litre, but dont quote me on that
