Im going to be getting a honey bear hamster soon. Is there anything about them I should know?

P.S. I have had a dwarf hamster before so I know how to care for a hamster :)

???? :dunno: Never heard of a "Honey Bear Hamster". But seeing as you've had a dwarf hamster I'm sure you'll be fine.

'Honey bear' is just another pet store name for the standard large Syrian hamster with a sand coloured pelt.
Also know as 'teddy bear' hamsters.

Must be kept alone (unlike dwarf hamsters) but otherwise the care is the same.

Not Siberian. Syrian. :p Siberian is another name for a certain type of dwarf hamster. They need to be kept solitary and need a fairly large cage with no tubes, preferably, but if you -must- have tubes, make them large.

Dwarf hamsters are a bit different. Dwarfs are prone to diabetes, Syrians aren't. Syrians are also much larger, although the average length would be around 7-9 cm. They are more cuddly and not as fast as dwarfs.

Hope this helps!

Well Skylar how you just described Syrian Hamsters it makes them sound better than Dwarfs. But when I say that it makes me feel bad about Scavvy.

I used to breed them, I had 40 breeding pairs so I should get it right!
