What's everyone's taking on keeping the two together in the same tank? Do you think it would be ok?

I have 6 Sparklers in my 60l but will soon be upgrading to a 125L and I'd love to add some Honeys as these have always been my fav really.

I guess no one knows then :(

I kept honey and croaking gourami together years ago. The thing is, I don't know what species of croaking/sparkling gourami they were. I had 4 honey gourami's and 6 croaking/sparkling gourami. I can't say the ratio of males vs. females, like I said, this was many years ago and I really didn't know much back then. They all got along peacefully for two years until I had to get rid of the tank. If anything, I would make sure that you have more females of each. For instance, currently I have 3 female-1 male honey gourami.

Good luck

Thanks for replying! I have no idea what sex my Sparklers are lol. I also think they may be a mix of 2 different kinds. I guess I could try mixing with Honeys and see how I get on :)

Have you checked the dorsal fin? With gourami, the males always have the more pointed dorsal fin compared to the females. Male colouring should be more intense as well. As far as telling the different types apart, I think it has to do with the lines along their body? I don't know for sure, I believe I either read it somewhere or someone told me...again, not sure as it's been awhile since I've seen any in the lfs.
