I need your opinions on a possible spawn. As you know my last spawn failed due to the daddies large appetitie. Well I was debating between spawning 2 of my nicely bred pairs. .Well I was looking through everyone and decided that it might be fun to experiment with 2 of my newer bettas and see what I get. Let me know what you think I'll get, and if its even worth it to try! Thanks!!

I would like to see what those babies look like!!! :hyper: I think both those fish are beautiful...very nice coloring on both! And with the tails, they would probably mix well. :good:

IMHO, I would mix a blue girl with him to maintain the mustard gas coloring. I would think you'd get tons of multicolors with the red on the female! If you just want to experiment, it's worth a try. However, spawning is a LOT of work for just an experiment.

As you clearly like both the betta's why not try buying males/females to match with them. I.E a cellophane for the female and a blue for the male.
Just my oppinion

Aren't these both pet store bettas? :/ I wouldn't really suggest breeding pet store fish in general since they have an uncertain heritage in terms of finnage, coloration, and any defects. Furthermore, most pet store bettas are past their breeding prime, and from what I've read, the older the fish, the higher the chance of deformed fry or decreased fertility. Pet store quality aside, they are two different tail types, two different colors, and the girl looks to have imperfect finnage. Better to buy a quality pair from a reputable breeder, methinks.
I know you are not a fan of how fish are treated in pet stores, but I could definately see you having trouble placing a spawn of any decent size with good owners since they probably will not come out as "high quality" bettas. I would just hate to see them ending up in a store as a last resort when the mixed fins and colors lead to difficulty placing them.
