I am fed up paying the insane prices for Frozen food so thought I'd try making my own

I picked up some King Prawns & Mussels from my local Chinese Supermarket as a starter

I can't decide whether to shell the prawns before I liquidise them

Any ideas to what other ingredients I should use

Good Guide !! Do us a step by step one please :D with pics :D

Eric Borneman gives one for corals in his book, I am sure fish would like it too.

Shrimp 6
Mussels 12
Clams 12
Oysters 12
Fish roe pack frozen (frozen aquarium pack)
Decapsulated Artemia nauplii 225g
sea urchins (frozen aquarium pack)

Dried seaweeds (120ml after soaking)
Powdered sea greens / Antioxidants 10g
Marine flake food 85g
Tiny pellet preium food 85g
Liquid amino acid supplement 30ml

Powder and mix sea greens and antioxidant
Add liquid vitamins + marine flake and powdered above
Thaw roe and urchin and Artemia in bowl
soak seaweeds in pure non chlorinated water
Liquify fresh and softened seaweed in food procesor (remove shells from fresh)
combine in bowl and mix well
Freeze in ziploc bags in thin flats or fish cube flats.

He uses 20ml or 4tsp per night in a 300g system. Some ingredients have antibiotic properties against Vibrio (oysters) and stimulate immune systems.

I am sure this can be adapted to include any other fish foods, but I am sure what corals did not eat, fish would anyway.

Hope it helps

Little tip for making yourself some feeding blocks after liquidising (of which you don want to make a liquid just blend the ingredients slightly).
Cut yourself some eggcrate into manageable blocks. Place on a plastic freezer bag. Fill an icing bag with your blended recipe and extrude into the eggcrate segments. Place inside the freezer box and once frozen knock your cubes into antoher freezer bag and store until ready.
The BigC method :p

First experimental batch done

Prawns
Squid
Mussels
Whitebait
Nori

I just liquidised the lot

I made the mistake of not adding enough water so it is pretty solid

I had a couple of old blister packs so I used those

Next time I think I'll add more liquid

The fish liked it
