I am curious

I live in British Columbia with a small property attached to my house, I do NOT want to make a fish pond as the yard is simply too small

So what I'm looking for is ideas for something of a portable "fish tank" that can be placed outside during the summer months and emptied/stored elsewhere during the winter months [the fish will be in an insulated/heated shed during the winter].

What I am considering is something 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet or larger

What type of material can be used?

I am looking for a "draining" hole at the bottom which can be used to drain the tank as necessary.

Anything else is welcomed

acrylic (perspex basically just abit tougher) is your best bet i think as you can drill it anywhere and put a tap on it or whatever you want really and its abit lighter than glass but dont use abrasives on it or it will scratch it easily and make it look cloudy

You probably want a container pond like this:

Can be stored in a shed in the winter and brought out for spring-autumn with good aquatic plants happily growing through. Paradise fish are ideal for the smaller ponds like you specced. If you want an actual square one then acrylic would be best as said by jay.

Doesn't look as nice, but exterior grade plywood, with pond liner inside and a big glass viewing window and a frame made of 2x4's around it should be fairly easy to do and cheap, I'm making a tank that way this year.
