Homade Clay Pots...in Tank?

is it okay to use clay to make a pot and bake it then put it in the tank? or would the fish die from the clay chemicals?



got the clay from walmart, white and doesnt dry out, only hardens when baked.

I wouldn't trust it in a tank, natural clay, maybe, but not sculpey.

you said "bake" but i dont know what that means...any clay put into a kiln is ok to use. if youre still in HS or have access to a pottery class, youd be ok. i dont know about that walmart $%#*

i would advise caution here. some modelling clay is oil based, and by all accounts never dries, even with baking. i cant help thinking oil is not a good base for an item in an aquarium. add to this that asbestos was found in some Wal-Mart clay in 2007. perhaps best not to use it.
