I decided that i was going to completely empty out the 10G maternity tank and release the pregger momma's back into the 96G...forget about saving this bunch. I wanted the tank for something else and i was tired of waiting for babies to come.
Well as i'm syphoning out the water into the bucket, who should i find but a baby platy that i sucked up!
So i turned on the aquarium light and took a closer look and there are 18 platy babies, some quite a bit bigger than others! They must have been there at least a week judging from the size of them.
Teaches me a lesson... NO GRAVEL in maternity tanks or nursery tanks! So now i'm on the lookout for a 20G or bigger for a growout tank! I don't think 10G is gonna cut it for 92 growing babies (75 guppies and 18 platys) + a very preggy momma in the tank with them.
