My poor angel has developed hole in the head. He has white puss on his head and its slowly making its way deeper. I have given it Parasite Clear, it is still not helping. He is more active now but the infection seems to be spreeding. What can I do I don't wanna loose him. Thanks

Hole in the head "disease" is generally indicative of stress - poor water. The normal flagelates which occupy the sensory pits get out of control. I'd be checking my water.

Water is fine, he is really old though.
Actually noone knows what causes HITH and this has been studied extensively for years to understand it with either inconclusive or contradictory results.

A few theories that abound and have been substantiated are water quality, diet, hexamita infections and the use of carbon. Stray electrical current is also a theory that hasn't been disproven as of yet.

In all actuality, diet is the most common denominator from the findings of these studies, not water quality.

All I can say is to change the water frequently, vary the diet and treat for hexamita. If anyone thinks it could be stray electrical current, and you have a voltmeter, place one of the probes in the water and ground the other. You should have readings of 0.
