I'd like a hang-on filter for my 30 litre (10 US Gallon) planted betta tank, I'm trying to find an AquaClear 20 or 30 online - are they available in the UK? I can only find the powerheads. I've tried eBay, quite a few non-branded ones but would rather know what I'm getting.

Also looking at the Azoo models but heard these commonly overflow. Anyway, I quite like the larger media compartment on the AquaClear.

HOBs seem a bit thin on the ground in the UK, any suggestions?

Thanks, the 400 l/h seems a good price but I do wonder if that would be a little strong for a betta in a 10G.

have a look here :good:

Beat me to it Ian!

The 400l/h has a flow adjustment setting, usually it's a plastic knob that just restricts flow on the uptake pipe. Twist that and it won't draw up as much water through the intake strainer and thus less flow \o/!

I found the HOB style filters were great for my Betta as they were were only rough on flow in a small area of the tank and the Betta quickly learnt where to not swim or at least prepare for a bit of a rough ride! If anything I would go for the 500/LH and then you can just adjust the flow down but have more room for media over the 400l/H.

Cheers, ordered the 400 model, even if it doesn't work very well it hasn't broken the bank trying it.
