going as that my clown wont touch my brine shrimp flakes (dry) i was wondering what would be the best food for him right now since hes probably stressed from being in new surroundings, and i think hes actin a little strange, the light was off and when i turned it on he stayed at the bottom under a plant until i chased him out, even after i waved my hands in front of the glass at him... now hes just hiding under a rock not swimming much, usually he swims all around... ill go check but maybe its cuz hes hungry, did a thorough check everything is a ok and the others are fine maybe he just needs some delicious food so what type?

Dude, dont enter the tank to chase a fish out. If its stressed what good is you chasing it out of an area its found to feel safe. You could try some frozen food like Brine shrimp or bloodworm. Your LFS (Local fish shop) should sell either brine shrimp frozen or live. Ask, and see if they do.

My clowns are picky little guys... The only thing I can get them to eat with any regularity is Hikari Marine S sinking pellets. They're supposed to be easy feeders, but thats all they want to eat.

my clowns eat both dry flake and frozen and take the flake from my fingers :p

i must have a couple of good uns :D

seriously though if your clown is hiding is he being picked on by others? is he showing any signs of disease etc?

nope no sighn of desease ive studied every desease, i cant tell if its internal parasites obviously, but he doesnt hide much anymore i think its cuz i was anxious for him to get up and swim and he was just waking up..stupid me lol... but he waves at me in the front liek he wants to eat then runs when i feed em. and hmm ill havta try forzen mysis shrimp or something... he doesnt go to the bottom so that would be no good and my food sinks within seconds so it flotas everywhere. my shrimp is a piglet! but i have a bowtie damsel and amazingley he hasnt bullied him they stick side by side as if they were a pair of clown... very odd. lol but i guess cool, i think hes fine maybe hes just a picky lil bugger

Mine eat just about everything I add to the tank

Cyclopezze
Brine
Mysis (Very good for pickie eaters)
Marine Dream
Marine Cuisine
My own Prawn/Crab Mix
Squid
Nori
Flake

I am sure I have forgotten some but that may give you some ideas

You could use a nori clip but clowns dont normally eat nori (mine are greedy buggers) IMO I would give Mysis a try

How long you had the clown, he will get the idea that when the lid opens he is getting fed

:good:

hey everyone thanks alot, I went to the store and bought Omega 1 sinking bryne shrimp, just to se if he liekd it better, then a case of frozen mysis shrimp and i came home and i put the pellets in 2-3 and both fish i have lunged for them but i guess they are too hard for them to enjoy, so they left them, that got me excited, so instead of wasting the frozen shrimp (for later fish) i tried the bryne shrimp flakes one more time, and he went for em and ate maybe 5 or 6, its a start, and well thats that hopefuly, otherwise now i have bryne shrimp lol, even with no money ill tell you how i got it ha ha kinda mean but it worked...

MY moms favorite fish is the clown, and she asked how he was doig after school and i thought about the potencial of the conversation, and said.. hes dying, and she got all upset and asked why and i told her, it was cuz he doesnt like my food i have, and that i have no money to by him other types of food, so she bought me it... ha ha lol

dnt worry im not that mean ill pay her back.. lol but i also went to the store to fine an awsome curved front 120 gallon tank, but since its petsmart"very common chain store" it was marked up to 300$ and well ya im sorry but i could get a tank and a few other items for that for half the price... it made me angry cuz i kno people spend money on tanks withou shopping around and waste their money... anywheys ya ya he ate so its ok now
thanks every1, and im very happy tosay my urchin hasnt lost any spikes.. but i have a question, im almost posotive that they will lose a spike everynow and then since they grow new ones continuously.. am i right????

Defort the frozon food before adding it to the tank in RO Water (add only small amounts at a time, what the fish will consume in a minute or so)

You probably wont need to add more than 1 block a day at the moment as you dont have a lot of livestock

cool cool thnks for ur help hes doing good and is still very lively, andf i bought pre blocked stuff its new but ya so i dnt havta worry about chopping it up, and what they dnt eat ill just re freeze. good luck with all ur fish 2
