Just thought I'd say hi, I actually already posted in the fish emergencies (which thankfully seemed not to have been an emergency in the end) and now I thought I should stick around and be social.
I had a 20 gallon (which housed a quirky but beautiful angelfish and three siamese algae eaters) but I moved and couldn't take it with me. And for the past couple years I hadn't given fish much thought really, but then my friend got this tank with some cute guppies and I was smitten all over again. And it was my luck that she was upgrading to a bigger tank and gave me her old one, filter, lights and all.
So now, to accomodate my very petite apartment, I have a 5 gallon with 3 neon and 5 cardinal tetras. Which was actually not intentional, I guess the store hadn't paid much attention to the fact they mixed the two together (or maybe they had I don't know, is it a common practice that I don't know about?)
In any case, I'm happy to be keeping fish again, but realized very quickly (after hunting down this forum in a near panic) that I have a lot to learn. So what better place to do it right? ^.^
