Welcome - and an unconventional conversion as well! Usually people seem to go Planted F/W -> Marine not the other way.

I know!! - I've had marines for a good number of years now, and just decided I wanted a fresh challenge. Unfortunately I haven't got space for more than one tank so I decided to make the change, as I've fancied an Amazonian sort of setup for a while.

Great, I love the fish from the South American regions to, were you thinking along the lines of Angel, Discus, Rummys, Apisto and Plecos .

Well, three out of five at least to start with!! I might look at angels or even brave discus if all goes well, but at the moment I'm probably going for tetras, and yes I do like rummys (and maybe some cardinals), apistos yes if I can find somewhere that sells good stock, not too easy, and yes plecos. I did have a FW tank years ago and two of my faves were a 'normal' and a clown plec. As long as they don't eat all my plants!
