Has any one gotten lr and NOT had a hitchhiker of sorts? I swear, out of the 7lbs I bought I've not seen one little critter yet. I don't really want one of those big ol' worms, but a little something would have been nice....
Since it wasn't cured when I got it I really expected something to be hiding in there, but I've checked 1-3 times a night every night since I put it in and I've found nothing.
So, it got me curious... has anyone else not had any hitchhikers?

how long have you had it?
-i consider myself lucky with the interesting little beasties ive found in my tank, it took about 3 months for me to start noticing anything though

If the LR wasn't cured as you state in the curing cycle most of the LR critters will properly die.

That's a shame, one of the most interesting things about my tank has been watching the various types of life appear from the rocks. Some bad, some good, all all part of the experience for me.

OUt of 5kg of cured stuff I got some really freaky things indeed. Check my nano blog link below :) The purple Poeple eater being the strangest  and I still keep finding new things. I found a new limpit , spagetti worms and another mini clam the other day. Not to mention all the strange wizzy things that keep swimming through the tank and back into the sump at the back. :p

I was scared to death to end up with something creepy, but I got nothing at all... guess that's what I get for being picky! :p
I do have something weird growing now, though. It looks white, and it's stuck to a piece of base rock. It kind of looks like spider web, only a pile of it, not single strands, if that makes sense.
Any idea what that may be?

Well, I may have done a bad thing, but I took a wooden dowel a pushed on it. It was just like spider web. Not sure what that means, though. I tried taking a pic before then but it was so blurry it was pretty useless. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if it comes back. If it does then I guess I have some weird web-making thing. The strangest part about it was that it was like just a pile of it, not a woven web that was stretched across anything... odd.
