Hit Me With Your Pairing Ideas!

Can you suggest some fish pairs for my tank as my LFS do not stock very many clown fish and im wanting to break away from the crowd and be different

gobies and pistol shrimp are always nice.
Trapezia Pocillopora and Acropora (not a fish but)
Yellow Stripe Clingfish and urchin
all I have for now.

A pair of zebra dart fish is always fun to watch.
If you have enough space a few yellow headed jawfish in a tank is well fun to see, must be yellows as blues will not live together, but once settled they will all bob in and out if the sand bed together.

Orchid dottybacks have been known to spawn in tanks.

I like orchid dottybacks will they be okay in my Orca tl450 and how much do they usally go for.

Also ive heard that maidenhead aquatics are opening a marine shop on the island so I may have a much wider variety of fish to choose from

a propper mated pair is close to £100. tehy are usually £30-35 odd each for really little ones. two would be fine in a tl450 imo, with not mcuh else

Thats a bit too expensive for my paper round especially as my LFS are very bad culprits for overpricing.

I agree with Ben, buy a small pair of juvies - and watch them choose who is going to be the boss

However there is a caveat, on occassion you get real mean orchids who will not accept another in the tank, even if they go into together as juvies so as long as you are prepared and equiped to whip out one to a qt tank or box etc then go for it

that would be really nice, but i think they might be too small for a 60l (possible when you upgrade)
but every tank should have one of these!

ps...seffie has trod given you your cardinal yet?

I don't mind emporer cardinals its just there £30 in my LFS and that's £60 for 2 fish.

I wish I had better LFS.

That's good to know there not overpriced on these but still £60 for two fish I think after my R.E exam tomorrow I will go and ask them to get me a pair of clowns maybe the black and white ones with the orange noses there pretty cool
