Do Hillstream Loaches eat algae?
Sean
Edit: Would they do good in a 10 gallon with a shoal of White Cloud Mountain Minnows? I would switch the fish in my 10 gallon to a 15 gallon I have, get a filter for the 10 gallon that creates a large current, like an AquaClear or something with a power-head somewhere in the tank. Would that be OK? I would make sure it got plenty of sunlight for the algae mats.

Hi HSL's will nibble algea, but they feed mainly on microbs that grow on the glass, decs etc (the slimy stuff). They will appreciate the addition of the powerhead, and will go very nicly with WCMM's

They eat the microorganisms within the algae which basically comes down to them eating algae. A tank with WCMM would be great as both like cool fast flowing water.

:)

As said in their natural habitat they feed on micro organisms (aufwuchs), which grow on rocks in the fast flowing streams. As Cheese has said your fish combination is great as both like fast flowing, well oxygenated water. Add some flat, broad surfaces for such micro organisms to grow. :)
