I am wondering if any of you have seen any UK fish shops or breeders that currently have any hillstream loaches in stock?

The only ones my LFS's have are Sewellia Lineolata (Goldring Butterflies) and Sewellia Spotted. Any peaceful / semi aggressive species under 3 inches will be considered. Oh and as will anywhere within a 3 hour round trip of Manchester.

Ta :good:

Pets at home, labelled as 'butterfly/hong kong plec', in the goldfish tanks.

Hmm I don't have a quarantine tank for buying fish from there at the moment but will have a look. Thanks :) .

There's no more a risk from buying there then anywhere else, just do the usual checks for dead or ill fish. I've never had an unhealthy fish from any of my local branches. Don't rule them out on the basis of an undeserved rep.

I was only basing it on a few small angel fish I got from there a couple of years ago which did not last long. Admittedly, they are quite hard to keep alive anyway at that age so maybe I am being a little harsh. I will look on Saturday :good:

Take a trip to your local MA and be nice to them, ask if you can speak to the person who does the fish orders...

You can ask them to look at the availabilities lists and tak your name and number and give you a call and let you know what they can get in? Or see what they have in stock already or ask when they are getting more in. Occasionally some really nice stripey ones or males with electric blue fins on some males!

I go to my MA around 3 times per week lol so I will just ask them to see the list and sweet talk them. Thanks :good:
