I finally got my hands on one!
freaky looking critter I must say!

Anyways, asides from the general care needs, is there anything else I should know?
What about a supplemental diet?
Are they completely omnivorous?

Thanks!

firstly they are coldwater loaches and not a catfish (should be in cyprinids etc)

anyways, the best set up for them is with a fast flow and large rounded pebbles for them to graze on. temp should be 23-25c
the will feed mainly on the micro-organisums that live in the tank and they will clean up any uneaten flakes etc.

HTH

oh other commons names are
hong kong pleco, chinese butterfly loach, butterfly pleco and many many more

I have a few of them over two tanks. My 20 gallon houses only one and it eats whatever i feed the fish. it usually gets to the shrimp pellets before the cories or the bristlenose pleco too...

they do like to escape alot. I found 2 or 3 dried up on the floor or on the hood, although the one in the 20 gallon never tried to escape even with no lid on it...
