i just got 2 hillstream loaches for my tropical tank 30g and they just seem to be really!! unactive all i see them do i move maybe a inch every 30mins and maybw when i wake up there on the other side of the glass and alos do they always stick to the glass all day lol

i didnt know they were sub-tropical at first so im sorry i didnt mean to put them ther

they dont seeming to be eating too alest thats what i think .. i have plenty of agale~
are these fish usual unactive cause myn just hang out near the heater all day

I dont think they are that unactive but i might be wrong i used to have a few. I kept them at about 21oC and they were pretty active.

hill streams need high oxygen levels and fast flowing waters, also (depending on the species) need cooler water, i think 22 degrees being the maximum. correct me if im wrong.

What is your water temperature ? It might be far too warm for them.
Also, they need really fast flowing water so a powerhead would be best to add to the tank to create good fast current.

my water temperature is 28/82 yea i think so .and the fish i have in there are 2 kribs and 8neons and 9whitre cloud mountains maybe i could put down the temperature to 25? 24?

oh yea forgot to ask what u feed them? im trying to feed them the agale tablets i dont have a clue if they eat it or not i actually dont know what there eating right now~

ive got a bubblestone in there and a HOB so i think that should be ok for them they like hanging around the heater for some reason

28 C is far far too high for Hillstreams. 24C would be the max upper range but as low as 18C. The higher the temperature, the more you will aerate to compensate.

hi, your fish should be fine at 25 white clouds also prefer the same conditions as hill stream loaches being semi tropical.

Emma :)
