Spike can wolf down an unseemly amount of bloodworms but understanding that a straight diet of bloodworms isn't the best for him I've now got him on hikari betta bio-gold pellets as well. the pkg says 1-3 pellets 2-3 times daily.
well. that's anywhere from 2 to 9 pellets a day which is a pretty wide spread.
I've been giving him 3 twice a day but I'm concerned if it's enough or not.

Seeing that he'll wolf down pretty much anything that looks like food until it's all gone....how much is enough?

general rule is how much they can eat in a couple of minutes. from the sounds of it though, you have a betta who thinks hes a labrador retreiver (leave food out all day, they'll eat 'til its all gone.... ). i use these pellets, and i usually feed about 3-6 a day, depending on the betta sometime a few more (i have some smaller guys who often will only eat 1 or 2, and i have others that would eat 10 in one sitting if i let them). you'll have to experiment, see what he eats

Well, my betta that died a some what tragic and peaceful death, lived for like... three years until my cat knocked over the bowl. I gave my betta two pellets in the morning and two at night. No bloodworms lol I never saw one of those in my life.
