Guys,
I have noticed my platties flicking on anything they can. My pair of Killies died thru the night, had been showing a white coating around the fins for a couple of days.
I tested my water myself, Nitrate and Nitrite OK, Ammonia OK, pH seemed a bit low on my rubbish test strips !
So, I took a sample to my LFS. He tested it for me and found pH of 6.0 and phosphates at 10ppm plus. My local tap water has phosphates at 4ppm, so i need to do a few big water changes to get this down.
Anybody got any suggestions how I can get my pH up a bit, and get the phosphates down ? AND, what has caused this in my tank ? I have some bog wood and live plants in there, but that shouldn't give such a low pH ???
Any ideas ?
Bob
