Hi guys,

My tap water is high in Nitrates (about 50 to 75 mg/l) and have been thinking about what I might do about it.

One idea I have (and would like your opinion on this) is if i take a spare tank and fill it with tap water and also lots of plants and let it stand hopefully the plants would reduce the nitrates to a safer level?
Would this be a practical solution?
What kind of plants do you think would be the best for the job?

Thanks

Martyn...

An expensive solution would be to buy an RO unit.

Maybe there is some filter media you can get to remove nitrates?
