Hi All,

I have recently setup a new to me, 450l tank.

I have a Aqua One canister filter and a Shark internal filter. I have transferred my fish from my old 65l tank into the new tank after I went through the correct cycling procedure's. All seems good and I look forward to adding more fish.

Anyway, my question, I have been admiring other people aquariums on this site and have to ask; how do you hide your hoses, suction caps, power cords, etc?

I really want to have the clean lines of the stunning aqariums that I have seen on this site, how do I achieve this?

the best way of doing it is with large plants, bogwood/decor etc. also a black background will help :good:

Thanks Mattlee,

When you mention a black background do you mean painting the back of my tank black?

Or, use something like contact sheets of an appropriate dark colour? I also have a strong car restoration habit and have managed to use hidden wiring, batteries, leads and even my radiator. I used a false box for my rad, has anyone have any plans (drawings) or pics of a false back on a tank?

Thanks for your help with this mate, I am aiming for an aquarium that will be a 'talking piece' in my lounge room.

As Matt says - clever positioning of decor inside the tank will help.

However, you should know that some people deliberately remove their filters and heaters before taking a picture of their tank so that it looks better!

I'm looking at you - planted tank owners!
