Fish Fanatic
Hi all. I'm new to the forum and pretty new to keeping tropical fish too. Last year I got a small 30 litre tank as a father's day present. The idea behind it was along the lines of something for both my son and I to enjoy. Many of my family keep tropical fish with varied success and it's something I've always quite fancied trying myself.
I've always kept wildlife ponds in the garden, but obviously tropical tanks require more regular care and attention. So far I've created a small South American biotope within my little tank and have kept my fish alive for nearly a year now (which is more than my mum seems to be able to manage). Now, as I'd promised myself should I prove to keep things well for a year with a small tank, it's time to move onto a bigger tank. My next tank is actually going to be a secondhand tank that my cousin has decided to give up. It's 165 litres, which seems like a good step up from 30 litres.
Again, I'll be hoping to create another South American biotope, but suspect that my ambitious nature for perfection will require advice from those more experienced - thus joining a fish forum.
Anywho, that's me and my experience of fish keeping in a nutshell.
