First of all, hello to all of my old friends here at TFF - I know I have been gone a while so I need to update you on what this is really about. For two years, we have owned a pair of Leopard Geckos and have tried to successfully breed them with no luck at all. Lost every batch to either fungus, dehydration and so on, well after many heartbreaking episodes, I have to say success has been achieved. To elighten you, here are the parents:

Now, I have to confess, two days ago, I almost tossed the eggs that I thought were bad - good thing I didn't because after coming home from the local pet store after buying supplies to care for the animals over the weekend while we are away, I discovered this:

Now, I am hoping the other 9 eggs hatch, the other egg that was laid with this one hasn't hatched yet. The other 8 eggs are seperated by 2 weeks for each clutch. We were tickeled pink to see this little one running around the tank, it hasn't shed yet, but I do have a supply of 1/8 inch crickets on hand when it starts eating on it's own.

:hyper: how exciting! All the best with the remaining eggs and fingers crossed they hatch too :good:

awww cutie!!

congrats and i hope the rest of them work out for you

oh my god that baby is the cutest thing ive seen in a long time, congratulations and hope he does well

Awww Trout!! He/She is sooo gorgeous and ickle! I want one =(
The parents are definatly beauties as well. But you already knew that :p
Hope all goes well and that the other eggs will hatch as well. Don't forget to keep us updated with loads of pictures as he/she grows =)

I am guessing they all will be females because I kept the eggs between 78 and 82 degress F all the time, it took that egg 61 days to hatch, I never thought it would. Thank you for all of the well wishing, and yes, I will keep you all updated as time goes by - I hope there are more in the tank when I get home. Unfortunately, as I said before, I had plans to go out of town before they started hatching so I am on pins and needles to see what is waiting when I get home. :yahoo:

So far, I only have one, so it isn't a problem. Right now they are all in a 18 gallon plastic two level tank and I am waiting for the others to hatch. I am not worried about housing them together because as I said I have been incubating them at 78 to 82 degrees so I will most likely have all females. I will probably only keep one or two of the offspring and add them to my main tank with the parents, or trade them in with the local pet store to get one female. I am waiting with baited breath for the others to hatch to find out the outcome other other eggs and hatchlings, I will write more when I have more results.

OK, here is an up-date. I now have two hatchlings...

Plus she just laid 2 more eggs today, so now I have 9 eggs in the incubator waiting to hatch...wish me luck.
