hi i want to do about a 30-40 litre tank planted tank with the whole bottom carpeted.

With something easy what would be best (hairgrass?)

What do i need to get as in:

1)substrate
2)lighting
3)co2

Im looking for the cheapest options for these things.

thanks for your opinions :good:

1) nutrient rich which help things a lot. aquasoil is the best, Eco complete is also good, but for a cheap alternative, tetraplant is a good chioce:

2) Have a minimum of 1.5WPG

3) It doesn't need CO2 but it will help, a cheap fermentation kit like the nutrafin will do or a diy set up. try to get/ ue 2 bottles then change one at the weekend, and one midweek to keep a steady CO2 output.

A good substrate is ADA Aqua Soil. I would go for at least 1.5WPG. You could also dose Seachem Flourish Excel and Tropica Plant Nutrition to increase plant health.

if you are getting the arc tank, then it comes with an 11w arc pod, get another one of these to add to it so it is 22w. If not, then just get an 18w Tube
