Hi Everyone!  I am new to this forum. I breed Betta fish, halfmoons. I live in the USA, Florida. I recently relocated here and now that I have more time and room and I am going to start my Betta breeding again. I am excited that I have several imported pairs of halfmoons arriving this week! I look forward to hearing from other Betta lovers and just "fish" people in general!

HI!  I tried to add some pictures but it said my file was tooooo big ....so I am going to have to try and figure that out.
I really wanted to show you guys the pics of the new Bettas I am getting.....a pair of platinum white siblings, halfmoons.
And also a gorgeous yellow male and female.....I am looking forward to seeing the fry from these pairs if I can successfully
breed them. OH I just got a picture of my new plat. white halfmoon on my member photo....

Hi and welcome, I was having that same problem uploading and I have to use my photo shop on my pc, and I use the export optimizer.
Basically I just have to shrink the file since my camera shoots Raw

hi! hopefully you will find all the help you need on this forum and just have fun!

Hi Barbara, i for one love to look at Bettas and all their different colours so i will be looking forward to see lots of pictures hopefully. Haha. I joined a bit back and have fun looking at all the posts and pictures and also recieve some great advice and help which you will too. :)

I love Bettas, I have one half moon in a community tank and 7 others splenders and a dragon tail in there own tanks. I was going to breed them and have about 6 females, but ran out of room. Still thinking about it. Tell me, how much room do you need? Just enough to house the fry when you can sex them? Also how long does that take? Right now I have Molly fry and even though they are growing I can't tell male from female.
I have read some on this subject but everyone has there own way.
Where are you in Fla. I used to live there. Good luck with everything and welcome to this site

Hi! Hope you enjoy it here :) Really looking forward to pics. You can upload them onto a photo sharing site such as photobucket and then link them here.

Use a photo hosting site like photobucket or flickr. Upload the pictures there and either post the IMG code here (the site gives this to you) or use the little photo icon in the message window on the forum.

Welcome to forum!!!!!!! And indeed we want pictures!!! I only have one half moon betta at moment but i love him.

Hi! I find that I need a lot of room for breeding....right now I have four 5 gallon tanks that house my best breeder males.....then I have two 10 gallon tanks, one with a divider.....one houses females, the other houses orphans that I can't bear to leave in petshops.....then I have a 30 gal. that I use for breeding/fry..then you need a place to transport your babies, each male needing a home...and I have numerous other various tanks and bowls......I know I don't really need 5 gal for each male BUT these males that have the 5 gal tanks are beautiful/imported and I just can't bear to see them in anything smaller....I have never had a male halfmoon that I could house in a community tank....all mine have been pretty aggressive. I live on the Treasure coast of Florida near Vero Beach. Where were you?
