Hi, New to Fish keeping.

Hi Everyone,

I got my very first tank 15Gallon, about 2 month ago. Now that it's cycled I have been adding some new occupants, over a period of about 3 weeks.

First in was the Plec (big mistake), didn't realise and wasn't told by my LFS what size he would grow to.

Secondly 3 White clouds.

Thirdly 2 Red Tailed Black Sharks

Fourthly 3 Black Platys

and

Finally 3 Red Platys

Everyones getting on really well, the plant's are thriving, and i'm loving every minute of it.

P.S. I've since found out that the Sharks are normally kept singly, because they are intolerant of their own species. Mine get along really well with odd skirmish in the middle of the tank, so long as they keep to there respective sides, everything is peaceful.

Welcome to the forum.....pleccy's do grow to a fair size but because they do a lot of sitting around it aint a real problem for you. .... Fluval are a good make ....I prefer the juwel ones but you cant get them here locally.....fluval are easy to get and easy to get filters for.....

Welcome toonfan its always fun coming to a new website, and finding people who know what your asking and give you advice.. The sharks should be fine if you havent had any problems with them yet. Plecs can get big, you might need to seperate him and set up another tank if he gets allot bigger.

Communitytanks are great fun... To avoide other kinds of situations such as the plec, try to research your next possible purchase first. There are sooo many dedicated sites telling you in depth, what the variety of fish your thinking of getting is about.. Temp of water food it eats where its from, is it compatible with your existing fish etc.

Your tank sound cool, i have a hex, 15 gallon full of living plants.

Clown loaches should be cool. Im not and expert on them though.

Check out this link to see a picture of fully grown clown loaches. I think you will see that they will get too large for your tank.

I watched it - definitely thought you could have nicked it in the last few minutes. Can't have many complaints about that penalty though - poor li'l Jermaine. Wish Houllier would sign a few decent englishmen *grumble grumble*
