hi im new to the forum. i have a 150 gallon tank with 1 oscar 1 pacu 2 tinfoils 2 silver dollars and 2 angels. i was wondering what is a good temp to keep my fish happy and healthy??? thanx...

Hi BadLarry and welcome to the forum.

A good temp to keep it at would be around 78-80F.

You have quite a few fish there that will be HUGE.

The tinfoils can get to 16", the Oscar to 16" and some Pacus to 30".

Do you have any pics of your tank? I would love to see all of them together. :)

Hi BadLarry and welcome!
I wanted to ask, how long have you had all these fish together? How is it going keeping Angels with an Oscar and a Pacu? How big are all these guys?
I'm really just curious because I would never have considered keeping my Angels with my Oscar so I'd love to know how its working out.

its funny you ask, because everyone always asks "how can you keep angels with an oscar???". the answer is i have no idea. i originally started out with 2 oscars. i had to get rid of 1 beacuse he was way too aggressive. the 1 i was left with is very passive and takes no interest in any of my fish. he's a real creampuff. so i guess it depends on the individual personality of your oscar. im going to attempt to put up some pictures tommorrow so be patient with me(im a dunce when it comes to computer stuff).

On another note, ive heard that red pacus get huge. have any of you had any personal experience with pacus. if so how big do they get in the home aquarium and how fast??? ive had mine for about 3 months and hes already 7 inches long.

oh, and they have all been together for about 6 months. i got my ascar about eight months ago, hes pretty big(about 10 inches). i added the angels about 6months ago(there descent size about 3 inches long but very tall).

I haven't had personal experience with them and just go by what I've heard from others. They say that they can get to 30" in the aquarium and I've been told they are the fastest growers of all the normal aquarium fish. It sure won't take him long to get huge but I'm not exactly sure how long. Hopefully someone else might know.

I've never kept Pacu's either so I can't help ya there.

As far as the Oscar and Angels go, I absolutely understand that it depends on personality. I would never put any of my angels with him. He's a cantankerous old fart. He would definately make dinner out of them as he does with anything smaller that he can catch. My angels range in sizes from about 1.5" to about 4" body length, they are much taller as it goes with angels.

I look forward to seeing the pics. Its really not as difficult to post them as you might think. Just use the browse button and open the picture as you would any file in the Explore window.
