Hi, I'm new relatively new to keeping fish. Help me out for my first tank.

I am getting my first 30 gallon freshwater tank very soon, and after doing what I hope is good research, I want to get two angelfish, two german rams, and 3 diamond tetras. I feel like I have too much or I'm missing something. Please make suggestions.

I would suggest getting 6 Diamond Tetras, they are a schooling fish and 3 might be too few. That stock should be good for now but you may need a larger tank later on down the road since some Angels get quite big.

I'm a very big fan of Opaline Gourami. I have 2 of them and they get along great with my Angels

Angelfish are great, but me personally, the minimum size aquarium is 55-gallon for angelfish. You are pushing it for a 30-gallon. Yes, they will be small and ok at first but six months later the angels will be much larger. You can get some with an easy-going temperament, or aggressive, you never know until later. I am going to have to re-home my Red-Eyed Tetras because my two Angelfish chase them around and I have already lost three. Red-Eyed Tetras are pretty big, much bigger than neons, but size doesn't matter. For the same reasons, I wouldn't stock most of the larger gouramies, Gold gouramies, three spot and even Opaline can be very aggressive, so you are taking a chance. There is one of the larger gouramies that don't get aggressive like the Moonlight gouramies, your safe with these.
