Hi everyone,

My name is Carmen and i am from South Africa
I am not exactly new to the hobby but still learning, i currently have seven tanks which all vary within a two year span that i have been fish keeping, currently in the process of closing down two of my smaller tanks as i recently got a 5ft tank that is in the cycling process.

Always happy to learn new things and help if i can.

A belated Hi and welcome to the forum

If you have an established tank, you can take the filter media/ material, or some of it, and put it in the new filter so you don't have to cycle the tank. If you shut down 2 smaller tanks, there would be ample filter media in them to get the new bigger tank going straight away.
