Hi,

I'm Garrett and I'm a more recent enthusiast to the freshwater aquarium hobby. I started rather quickly with a 10 gallon off of craisglist and a few mollies, up to a 29 gallon with a few platties, neons, and corys, and finally up to my 75 gallon pictured below.

Here I have added Congo tetras, ember green corys, plecos, a gourami, a rainbow shark (I know, I know), as well as a half a dozen ghost shrimp that may or may not be eaten on occasion (hard to keep track of them). The Molly Matriarch has given me around 60 or so babies which I've managed to give away around 30 or so, and I have another batch well on its' way. It's a fun tank but it has some ways to go. I want to get the plants going well but its' difficult with the stand substrate, but it's coming along.

I have my 10 gallon acting as both a quarantine tank and a place to soak the driftwood I've been waterlogging for over 6 weeks now. It's also acting as a sort of growing bed for duckweed, and I have some white clouds and 24k clouds in there now to give it some bio-load along with a few ghost shrimp.

I'm by no means perfect, but I enjoy it immensely and look forward to meeting other hobbyists out there with ideas and suggestions. As an IT specialist, I even had a spare security cam I rigged up as a sort of live fish tank cam (now partially obscured by some horn wort I need to plant or float).

That's me in a nutshell. I think I'm going to start experimenting with a small salt tank soon, and I have my eyes on either a 125 or 150 gallon tank in the future. . . is there an aquarium hobbyist anonymous group thread I should know about?

Thanks and hi everyone!

Hi and welcome to the forum! :hi:

Wow those are some nice tanks, I just wish I had that much room! I only have a ten gallon : )

As for the threads I'm not sure about, sorry I couldn't help.

Happy fishkeeping!

We certainly need a 12 step program for aquaria hobbyists. It does become addicting. I started with a 10G and in less than a year had (2) 10’s,(2) 20L, a 29G, 55G, (2) 5G and a pond! Santa’s bringing a 145G. We could spend our money on a lot worse things! Welcome and look forward to seeing you around.
