Hi,
I am writing this a bit later than I should have. My husband found this site a week ago when he was trying to find help for my long spined black urchin. He found a post for a lady that asked many good questions about hers. Ultimately hers died. Mine has not yet. I have an active thread under emergencies and under marine invertebrates regarding my latest on him.
I have since had the time to really look at this forum and I am very impressed! There are so many people here that are willing to take the time to answer questions that are posted with knowledgeable information. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this resource. My LPS tries very hard to be helpful but I am afraid they do not know as much as I do about fish.
I am not a novice at fishkeeping. I started about five years ago and soon became obsessed. There were times when my husband was not sure where he stood on my list of priorities. After getting my third ten gallon tank we realized I needed a 55 gallon. I was restricting my fish to freshwater until that time. Once I got the 55 gallon, I turned a ten gallon into a nano-marine tank. Of course, it did not stop there. A year and a half ago, my wonderful husband gave me a 125 gallon tank for Christmas! That tank is the highlight of my fishkeeping! I have itemized everyone I have in that tank on my profile.
I am learning more and more every day. This is an exciting hobby and taking care of fish is very rewarding. The personalities and antics of the fish are a pleasure to watch. My goal in keeping fish is not only to keep them alive, but to see them thrive in an environment as close to their natural environment as possible.
I look forward to getting to know you all, and I hope I can contribute some of my knowledge to others who use this site.
Thank-you for providing this forum to everyone!
