I am very new to the aquarium hobby- my first ever tank is a week old. I have 1 male guppy so far.

Firstly welcome . Secondly, there are loads of great articles on this site for people who are new to the hobby. Probably the most important one to read is this about fishless cycling - it will save you losing some lovely fish!

Also, check out the beginners forum, there are some posts at the top giving advice to beginners which I know I for one found so useful!
