Hey peeps, just saying hello!!!

I am new to the wonderful world of aquariums and have started big, 65 gallons US. I had an Ich epidemic after 2 weeks and lost 2 silver tip sharks but all seems to be under control now. this site helped save my fish and now that the emergency is over I thought I'd join the community to share info and good stuff.

btw was your tanl cycled b4 adding the fish?

Glad you decide to join us. Good choice on tank size!! It is always best to start with the largest tank possible.

yes the tank was cycled prior to putting fish in. I believe it came from one of the fish, a painted glassfish. the problem came about 3 or 4 days after putting 4 of them in the tank. and delayed the addition of 2 beautiful mid size angels I have already purchased. I will get to add them this sunday.

Hi Tanked...Welcome aboard.

You've probably already noticed, but not too many fans of painted fish here, ranked right up there with Mutant Fish (man made hybreds), I also have 3 painted Tetra's that were one of our first purchases as a newbie. We will never buy painted fish again as it just encourages the pet stores to keep this mistreatment of fish alive....but I rant

i'm with you, I did not do my research like I should have and will never buy tampered with fish again. only the way nature made them. teaches me for not researching. won't make that mistake again, at least not with my fish tank. thanks for welcoming me.
