My step dad says they are just stupid fish and that you cant get attached to them? So do get attached to your fish?

I do! They are like my kids and it is sad when one dies.

It is definitely possible. You do end up getting attached more on some than others, but it is definitely possible!

I get attached to some of them, but definitely not as attached as to my kid or to my dog. If a fish dies, even a cherished one, I still flush it.

I feel like that too, when I said they are like my kids, I didn't mean that my kids aren't important, just that I take as good of care of them as my kids. I but them treats and new things for their tanks just like I would buy my kids toys and stuff for them.

Obviously, if I had to choose between my little girls and any of the species, you know which one will loose! (hint: the one that doesn't live under water will win!).

But I have to admit, I got attached to some species more than I thought I would. One of them being the male bristlenose pleco.
