Hello peeps what size tank can you keep 2 hermit crabs in? Bowls of water, sand and playthings a suitable setup? Any further tips for someone considering their first land crab pet?

Had these in the Past and TBH they are not Fussy.
I had a Mixed Size group of 6 In a 5G With Mixed grades of sand and Gravel.
A Shallow Lid for water and Sprayed the Inside of the Tank every few days.
I fed them whatever fruit and Veg we had, As Well as Weeds from the Garden. And Also The same Fish Pellets i already Used.
I Used one of the Hydor Credit Card Sized Heaters as this could go in the gravel or you could use a heat matt underneath the tank.
I made sure there was lots of things for them to climb and explore.

Here is a Pic of them, when I had them set up above the tank with a stream being pumped from within the tank.

That is a gorgeous setup thanks for sharing, I dont think I will going so elaborate.. lol. With regards to heating is a heater essential or could I heat from the top of one of my tanks (I used this method to keep a stable 22C on one). One thing confused is on how tropical humid they need, thanks so much for sharing.

I Found they were not fussy on temp. Heat from a Tank below should be suffecient. What sized crabs are you looking at, I had from 5p size to adult.

I think I have a load of different sized shells still, do you need them.

Been reading not to let them get chilled so unsure if room temp would be sufficient..I havent actually gone to see them yet, so will do that before set up! Will let you know on the shells thanks for the offer :good:

Well 'officially' (at leas in the UK) room temp is anywhere from 12-20'C... a pretty meaningless measure to be honest.

These guys have a definate base line temp, buy a cheap heat mat or bulb set, and you'll be fine.
