I recently bought two hermit crabs from a store at the beach and had them for about a week in a 1 gallon mesh crab kit. I soon was able to get them in a 10 gallon with half Eco Earth and half sand. With my wallet being stolen I was only able to buy an inch worth of each bedding. In the mesh cage I noticed the larger hermie was burying itself and did so when in the 10 gallon. I know he's molting but how can I care for him in this status. Also a corner in the ten gallon with the food dish seems to have/had attracted both/one crab and will always trail back to the corner once moved.

That means they need more humidity. If one is preparing for a molt then higher humidity should be maintained also

Provide a couple of wide shallow water dishes, slowly pour water into it and let it overflow. Reduce vent holes by covering 90% of the top with foil. Increasing the depth of your substrate should also be your main priority
