After seeing off to a new home yet another unwanted plec that I was given after I had fed him up and got him looking good I end up with another!!!, This poor little guy arrived in a jam jar and is so thin its heartbreaking. Torn fins and such a sucked in belly I could cry, so much for me getting some space in the kitchen he is now in my quaranteen tank and fins healing already. Bless him he had a fit when I put cucumber in, took him nearly 24 hours to go near it (then he demolished the lot lol) he is happily munching this morning on a prawn. Few weeks or so of tlc and he should be right, looks like a lovely gibby beautifully marked. Why do people treat these beautiful guys so bad  I am going to get so attatched to him while he is hear.

Aw, that realy is sad. Why people have fish when they cant look after them is beyond me!

Glad he is recovering, and i'm sure hes got a good home with you :good:

I know how you feel. I've just rehomed some of the most bizarre looking guppies, mostly due to interbreeding. All totally healthy though. So I've gone out and bought a another guppy to put some new blood into the mix. I've got to learn to say no.

Trouble is I cannot say no! I really should but I couldnt bear the thought of what would happen if I didnt take them in sometimes.

With you there totally. Mum's bringing over the old family Aquarium with her in july, I havent told Mr Littlemonkey yet. You just know where this is leading don't you.

A row :hyper: would be in my house at the moment lol,. not really true Mr Star is a star with my fish.

Good on you for rescuing those poor plecs. I know just how you feel. I can't resist A Fish In Need and have ended up with 6 tanks of rescued and unwanted fish, including sevral stunted goldies, comon plec and (horror!) golden algae eater. All my fish get on so far, except the last who is in solitary confinement.

Sounds like my lot, Texas with floppy fins, a blind goldfish, 2 huge plecs and 3 smaller ones.

Little guy is doing great, he is just too friendly and cute for words, wagging away waiting for that magical stuff called food, he is always at the front of the tank and is not showing any stress colouration considering he is in a bare tank apart from a bit of bogwood to rasp on. Couple of weeks or so on his own to make sure he is not carrying anything and he is healthy and I can start looking for a home for him. (she says with her fingers crossed as he is getting under my skin already  )

Bet you fall in love with the little guy. I ended up with more fish from the same family (the last lot)on sat. There is a large platty red/black and gold. The more I look at the other fish I've re-homed I'm thinking they are danio's rather than guppy's. Re-homers sometimes you can end up with a lucky (or unlucky) dip. I'd never get rid of them though, just wondering what I'm going to do with them all.

Well the little guy has ended up in my 300l tank  such a sweet plec, he is always out, was a bit of a todo with the other plec in there for a bit, but thankfully they have settled again now, so nice to see him happy. Still a little skinny but better than he was thankfully, shame I cant keep them all.
