Hey ya'll. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there that has any type of Hemiodus species. I currently have a Hemiodopsis Goeldii and a Hemiodopsis Gracilis :hyper: . I was thinking about collecting these neat looking fish, but I know they are rare and I am lucky enough to just have them. Anyway, does anyone else have one?

I had some H. gracilis about 20 years ago. The thing I remember the most was they are a very skittish species which would at least swim in a flash if not jump and fly the entire length of the tank at the slightest event. My largest grew to about 120mm in a 1.25m tank. They were never really difficult to keep or feed, but they didn't do well, and my group of 4 slowly died out over about 18 months.

I've not seen them for sale for a while now thinking about it...

I've only seen two, and I've snatched both up. I bought the first one without knowing what it was, and found out it was a Hemiodus. They really are a cool species though. I just found one last weekend, so that's why I became curious if anyone else has had these neat critters. :fun:
